The Miami Marlins named former major league player and manager Gabe Kapler as their general manager on Monday.
Kapler most recently was assistant general manager of the club, focusing on player, coaching and staff development. Prior to that, he served as manager of the Philadelphia Phillies (2018-19) and San Francisco Giants (2020-23).
He also spent three years (2015-17) as the director of player development for the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he worked with current Marlins manager Clayton McCullough.
“It is an exciting time to be part of the Marlins organization, and I am ready to continue the great work we are doing here,” Gabe Kapler said of the baseball operations staff.
“The growth and momentum we’ve built are a direct reflection of a clear vision, a strong culture and an incredible team working together toward a shared goal. I’m proud to help continue that progress and contribute to what’s ahead.”
In 2025, four Miami minor league affiliates reached the postseason, a first in club history. Jacksonville won the Triple-A National Championship.
