WINCHESTER, Ill. — Camp Point Central is moving on in the Class 1A Bluffs Regional baseball tournament after defeating Triopia 6-4 in the quarterfinal on Monday.
Triopia led 3-2 midway through the fourth inning before the Panthers plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead.
Panthers starting pitcher Collin Likes earned the win on the mound after pitching a complete game with nine strikeouts, while allowing 10 hits, one walk and three earned runs.
Trojans starting pitcher Brock York took the loss after pitching six innings with eight strikeouts, while allowing nine hits, two walks and five earned runs.
Central shortstop and leadoff hitter Nate Peters went 2-for-3 with a walk, RBI and a run.
Panthers catcher Luke Ippensen went 3-for-3 with a double and a run, while designated hitter Kolin Bockhold went 1-for-3 with a triple, RBI and two runs.
Trojans center fielder Sam Miller went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base.
Triopia designated hitter Grant Fricke went 2-for-4 with a run, while York went 2-for-4 with a double and a run.
Up next for Central (8-20) is the Class 1A Bluffs Regional semifinal game against West Central (20-5) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
