Mississippi State is the 11th seed in this tournament. The Bulldogs made a strong push to help their standing late, winning each of their last three conference series. That includes a sweep of Missouri last weekend, taking two of three from rival Ole Miss two weeks ago, and a sweep of Kentucky before that.

Mississippi State was a five-seed in last year’s tournament. The Bulldogs beat rival Ole Miss in the first round, then topped four-seed Texas A&M, before getting eliminated by losing back-to-back games against Vanderbilt and Tennessee.

This is Mississippi State’s 37th appearance in the SEC Tournament, the third-most all-time. They’ve won seven titles, with the most recent coming in 2012.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M is in the tournament for the 10th time since joining the SEC in 2013. The Aggies won their lone conference tournament title in 2016.

First pitch for this game is set for 9:00 p.m. ET, but could be adjusted based on how long the first three games of the day take. Coverage of the game can be found on SEC Network.
