The Tampa Bay Rays selected Forrest Whitley to the major-league roster on Thursday. The 28-year-old right-hander made appearances for both Houston and Tampa Bay during the 2025 season. (Rays Communications)
The Tampa Bay Rays have made the following roster moves:
Exercised 2026 club option for INF Brandon Lowe.
Reinstated INF Taylor Walls from the 60-day IL; exercised his 2026 club option and added a 2027 club option.
Declined RHP Pete Fairbanks’ club option.

Fantasy Impact:
Whitley struggled in 12 big-league innings last season, posting a 13.50 ERA and 2.25 WHIP. He performed significantly better at Triple-A Durham, where he logged a 2.60 ERA and 1.00 WHIP across 55.1 innings.
