The third week of the UIL baseball playoffs had many of big moments.

Here are five standout performances from Dallas-area talents:

Ethan Baiotto, Southlake Carroll

The Tennessee signee struck out 10 batters while allowing two runs and six hits over six innings in Game 2 against Denton Guyer. Carroll advanced to the regional finals behind his performance.

Tyler Scarborough, Lovejoy

The sophomore pitcher recorded eight strikeouts while allowing just two walks and four hits in 6 â…” innings in a 2-0 win over Midlothian Heritage in Game 2. His effort forced a decisive Game 3, which Lovejoy won to advance to the regional finals.

Jobe Reed, Colleyville Heritage

The junior went 4-for-4 with four runs and three RBIs, including a solo home run in the third and doubles in the fourth and sixth innings against El Paso Americas. He also has 108 strikeouts this season.

Cayden Campbell, Midlothian Heritage

Campbell went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and one run in Game 1 against Lovejoy. He also pitched the seventh inning, striking out two and allowing no hits or runs. Heritage, however, lost back-to-back games to drop the series.

Max Vetkoetter, Frisco Wakeland

The sophomore recorded 17 outs and eight strikeouts while allowing just one hit and one walk in 5 â…” innings in Game 2 against Corsicana. His strong outing helped Wakeland advance to the regional finals.

Thomas, a former Coppell standout, admitted he’s been mistaken for a Cowboys teammate in the past.
