The Arizona Diamondbacks missed the postseason once again last year. The team has not made the postseason since making the World Series in 2023.
After back-to-back years of disappointment, the Diamondbacks will enter next season facing some pressure. It is imperative that they make all the right moves in the offseason to compete in a competitive decision. As they build their roster, veteran outfielder Cristian Pache on Thursday elected free agency, according to his transaction log on MLB.com.
Cristian Pache won a World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 2021. He signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks before the season, but did not appear in a big league game. He played 70 Games for the Reno Aces in Triple-A. He had a solid season, but was never anything more than an emergency outfielder the team could have called up.

Pache slashed .251/.351/.389 with five home runs. He has five seasons of experience in the big leagues, playing in 251 games. He has played for the Braves, Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins at the big league level. He has a career slash line of .181/.243/.275 and seven career home runs.
Pache could find a new team willing to give him a minor league contract. He is not a player who is going to change the outlook of a team, but he could serve as great minor league depth in case of injuries.
