KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals announced on Friday the hiring of Connor Dawson as a hitting coach on the Major League staff.
Dawson, 32, is a 2012 graduate of Olathe North High School and played collegiately at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas.

Dawson spent the last four seasons as a hitting coach with the Milwaukee Brewers. During his time in Milwaukee, the Brewers offense ranked 7th in Major League Baseball with an average of 4.69 runs per game. In 2025, the Brewers ranked tied for 2nd in the Majors in team batting average (.258) and on-base percentage (.332) and 3rd in runs per game (4.98).
According to the Royals, Dawson began his career in 2015 coaching the Kansas City Bullets college prep baseball program and was the hitting coach and strength coach at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He spent one year as the hitting and pitching coach at Marshalltown Community College in Iowa in 2019.
He later joined the Seattle Mariners organization as a hitting coach for their Arizona Rookie League team. In 2020, he was a hitting strategist at the Mariners Alternate Training Site, and in 2021, he became Seattle’s Minor League hitting coordinator.
