Coming off another World Series title, the Los Angeles Dodgers don’t have a whole lot to do when it comes to roster building this offseason. However, this team isn’t the perfectly constructed team that many fans across the league believe they are.

Yes, the Dodgers do have star power to work with, but each of them is on the older side. The Dodgers also have a clear problem in the outfield, and the bullpen is an issue.

Despite Los Angeles being able to close the deal on another title, we can’t overlook just how poor the bullpen was throughout the entire season. The Dodgers tried to address this last winter by signing star left-hander Tanner Scott to a big contract, but Scott was horrible in his first year in Los Angeles.

This could see the Dodgers look to address the bullpen, which is easily the biggest need of this year. Luckily for the Dodgers, there are plenty of ways for them to make this happen, both in free agency and via the trade market.

As the Dodgers continue forward with the offseason, there are all sorts of rumors around the team being aggressive to add again. However, much of this is likely to be just rumors, especially with the players currently under contract.

Los Angeles has built a reputation for being able to find gems where nobody else can, and they have excelled at finding talent. For the Dodgers to get back to having a strong bullpen, they may need to take some gambles on players again this offseason.

This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Los Angeles Dodgers Will Sign Devin Williams

The Dodgers have been rumored to be going after a closer or late-game arms this winter. One of those could be right-hander Devin Williams, who is coming off an up-and-down year with the New York Yankees.

Before he was traded to the Yankees last offseason, the Dodgers were heavily involved in trade talks to land Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers. There were reports that Los Angeles wanted to land either Williams or Scott, and they went with Scott since it didn’t cost them prospects.

But due to the struggles that Williams saw in New York, the Dodgers may be able to capitalize on this to bring him into the mix. Williams saw a major spike in his ERA, going from three straight years posting an ERA under 2.00 to it skyrocketing to 4.55 this season.

The veteran was better in the second half of the season, and even saw his velocity jump up. The case can be made that he dealt with some bad luck with the Yankees, and he could still be dominant going forward.

The Dodgers could be the perfect team to give him a chance, and he could sign a short-term deal to help reset his market. Los Angeles loves high annual average contracts for a small number of years, and Williams may be looking for this.

If he were to turn things back around with the Dodgers, he could then reenter free agency next year to land a large contract. Los Angeles would get its closer, while Williams could use the team to help get his value back up around basenall.

This could be a real win-win for each side for next season, and it would theoretically solve the Dodgers’ bullpen issues.
