The Royals acquired right-hander Mason Black from the Giants on Tuesday in exchange for Logan Martin. Black had been designated for assignment by San Francisco last week and will now join Kansas City’s 40-man roster. The 25-year-old spent most of the 2025 season at Triple-A Sacramento, posting a 5.81 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 114 strikeouts and 62 walks across 119.1 innings. (Kansas City Royals)

Fantasy Impact:

Black has primarily worked as a starter in the minors, though it’s unclear whether the Royals intend to keep him in that role. He still has minor-league options remaining.
