WASHINGTON (7News) — A young man was declared dead after a shooting in D.C.’s Navy Yard, just a block away from where ANC leaders were discussing recent juvenile takeovers in the neighborhood.
D.C. police confirmed the man was found “unconscious and not breathing” in the 1000 block of 3rd Place, Southeast, at around 9:40 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Just a block away on 250 M Street, Southeast, several District leaders gathered to discuss public safety after several recent incidents involving large groups of juveniles.

The shooting occurred roughly 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Washington Nationals – Atlanta Braves baseball game at Nationals Park.
An investigation is ongoing, but police are looking for a man with a slim build wearing all black clothing.
