This week, the Texas baseball team stockpiled some talent in its dugout.
On Wednesday, Texas announced that its Class of 2026 would include 20 signees. During head coach Jim Schlossnagle’s second signing day at the school, UT signed five infielders, five left-handed pitchers, five right-handed pitchers, one outfielder, two catchers and two two-way players.
According to Perfect Game, Texas has signed the No. 3 class in college baseball. Just LSU and Vanderbilt had a better-ranked haul.
D1Baseball ranked 10 of UT’s signees among their top-150 recruits. Emerson (No. 4), Peterson (No. 10), Rangel (No. 39), Webb (No. 45), Harris (No. 56), Autrey (No. 57), Krenek (No. 83), Bumila (No. 85), Durham (No. 101) and Beaird (No. 121) all made the cut, which means that Texas will likely need to wait out the 2026 MLB Draft to see how many of these prospects make it to campus.
