Tyler Stephenson on Reds; loss vs. Dodgers in NL playoffs
Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson talks about Reds’ loss to Dodgers
Many Cincinnati Reds fans pushing for the team to sign free agent and former Middletown High School standout Kyle Schwarber were excited to learn that the move likely would earn the endorsement of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
“The @reds signing @kschwarb12 would add big power to the lineup and bring a Middletown native back to Southwest Ohio!” DeWine tweeted Nov. 13.
Earlier in the week, DeWine facilitated strict limits placed on some professional baseball “micro” prop bets in the wake of federal indictments of two Cleveland Guardians pitchers for rigging bets.
The 13 free agents who received qualifying offers from their clubs have until Nov. 18 to accept or decline $22.025 million, one-year offers.
“If you’re a Reds dreamer, this means watching for Schwarber to decline the offer, then fail to come to terms with the Phillies on a new deal to return,” The Enquirer’s Gordon Wittenmyer wrote.
