MILWAUKEE— After a historical season of baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers, Major League Baseball has voted Brewers President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold the 2025 MLB Executive of the Year.

This is the first time a general manager has won the executive of the year award two times in a row.

In 2024, Arnold was the first Brewers general manager to win the award.

Throughout the 2025 season, the Milwaukee Brewers set a franchise record of 97 wins and 65 losses, making the Brewers the best team in the entire league for the year. Such a record led to the Brewers to qualify for their seventh postseason appearance in the past eight years. The Brewers also won the National League Central division for the third consecutive season under Arnold’s leadership.

The MLB says the trading of players was also a critical part to what earned Arnold the award.

Some of Arnolds transactions for the Brewers organization this season included:

December 13: Acquired INF Caleb Durbin as part of the trade that sent RHP Devin Williams to New York-AL. Durbin went on to finish third in 2025 National League Rookie of the Year voting.

January 2: Acquired RHP Grant Anderson in a trade with Texas. Anderson appeared in 66 games out of the bullpen this season and posted a 3.23 ERA while recording career highs in innings pitched (69.2) and strikeouts (74).

March 5: Signed LHP José Quintana as a free agent. Quintana went 11-7 with a 3.96 ERA in 24 starts this season and the team went 15-9 in his outings.

April 7: Acquired RHP Quinn Priester in a trade with Boston. Priester emerged as one of the top arms in the rotation as he went 13-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 29 games (24 starts) this season. The team won 19 consecutive games (16 starts) in which he appeared from May 30-September 18.

May 16: Acquired LHP Rob Zastryzny in a trade with New York-AL. Zastryzny appeared in 26 games (1 start) with Milwaukee this season and posted a 2.45 ERA.

June 13: Acquired 1B Andrew Vaughn in a trade with Chicago-AL. Vaughn batted .308 (68-for-221) with 9 HR and 46 RBI in 64 games with the Brewers, posting a .375 OBP/.493 SLG/.868 OPS.
