Pedro Martinez used the stage at Thursday’s MLB Awards Show to mock the New York Yankees.

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the inaugural award for Entertainer of the Year. Accepting on his godson’s behalf at Las Vegas, Martinez made the moment entertaining for most fans outside the Big Apple.

The Boston Red Sox icon ended his speech by doing his best impression of former teammate David Ortiz.

“Daaaaaaa Yankees lose,” Martinez bellowed, as shared by MLB.

The three-time Cy Young Award winner searched the crowd for former Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia before repeating the refrain.

“CC, where are you? Ohhhh, Yankees lose! Yeah!” Martinez said as he pointed to the audience.

Guerrero will likely approve of Martinez’s antics. The All-Star delivered the same taunt with Ortiz while conducting a Fox Sports interview amid a locker room celebration after the Blue Jays eliminated the Yankees in the American League Division Series.

Meanwhile, Martinez transferred an old title that once haunted him when labeling Guerrero the Yankees’ new daddy. The 26-year-old went 9-for-17 with two home runs and nine RBIs during a dominant four-game series.

Of course, Yankees fans will probably remind Martinez that the Red Sox first lost to the Bronx Bombers in the American League Wild Card Series. Boston missed two opportunities to advance beyond the best-of-three round after winning Game 1 behind a gem from Garrett Crochet.
