Kentucky Wildcats Baseball is still slated to make the NCAA Tournament, even if their stock is dropping.
The Wildcats are down to a three-seed in the latest Field of 64 NCAA Baseball tournament projection from D1Baseball.
Should the projection hold, Kentucky would be playing in the Conway, South Carolina Regional. Coastal Carolina (1) would play host, while NC State (2) and USC Upstate (4) would also feature.
It’s not a shocking predicament, as the Wildcats have lost four in a row. They were swept by Vanderbilt to end their regular season, and lost 1-5 to Oklahoma in the SEC Tournament’s opening round. The loss to the Sooners was somewhat surprising, as the Wildcats were coming off of a sweep of them towards the end of the regular season — which saw their stock shoot up. They’ll finish their season at 29-24, although they did go just 13-17 in SEC play.
Kentucky was a two-seed in the prior edition. NCAA Regional matchups will be announced on May 26th at noon.
