Dodgers Ohtani and Yankees Judge recipients of MLB MVP awards

Baseball’s MVPs have been decided. Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani wins the National League award, while Yankees’ Aaron Judge takes home the title again for the American League.

Shohei Ohtani is now in rare air after winning his fourth MLB Most Valuable Player award.

In fact, only one other player in league history has more MVP awards: Barry Bonds. The all-time home run king collected seven during his legendary career with the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants.

Ohtani’s MVP awards have been distributed equally between the American League and National League. He’s the first player to win multiple times in both leagues.

Here’s a look at the years he’s won the award and where he ranks all-time:

Shohei Ohtani MVP years

With the Los Angeles Angels, Ohtani won the Rookie of the Year award in 2018 and then won the AL MVP in 2021 and 2023. He’s won the NL MVP each of his first two seasons with the Dodgers since signing a record-breaking deal after the 2023 season.
