The same group of fans who organized protests and paid for an airplane banner and billboard ads earlier this year picked a national audience with ESPN’s College Game Day televising live outside Acrisure Stadium for another banner flying over the city.
This time the banner reads, “Set Pittsburgh free Bob! Sell the team! H2P!!”

When Plum native Pat McAfee began to talk about the Pirates, he said, “Paul Skenes just won the Cy Young, he’s the best player in baseball. That’s sick. Although the team might be obstinate…” before he was interrupted by a chorus of “SELL-THE-TEAM” chants by fans in attendance for the Pitt-Notre Dame game later today.
McAfee continued: “What’s going on with the Pirates is they don’t spend any money, so they never actually win, you see. We got Paul Skenes, so we’d like to go on a historic run at PNC Park. The most beautiful ballpark in all of MLB!”
Welcome to BEAUTIFUL Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania..
