New baseball training facility opens in Loves Park

  • November 16, 2025

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – A man who recently opened up an athletic development facility brings awareness on athlete’s mental health.

This included the help of World Series Champion Ben Zobrist.

Jerome Bernardes recently opened Legacy 3 42 Baseball in Loves Park as a place for young athletes to develop their skills and build a community connection.

Legacy also has a mental health director working with kids. Saturday night he invited Zobrist to be part of an event surrounding athlete’s mental health.

Attendees heard more about this topic via a panel discussion and Zobrist shared his story.

“This started in April and I can’t believe it’s here. I’m excited to work with the community to have all our agencies inspire everyone to come see them if they’re ever in need,” said Bernardes.
