Utility player Chris Hacopian will have a change of scenery for the 2026 college baseball season. After two seasons with the Maryland Terrapins, he is heading to College Station to play for the Texas A&M Aggies.  

Hacopian and His Two Seasons with the Maryland Terrapins 

Hacopian spent his first two seasons in college baseball with Maryland. His career numbers include a .347 batting average, a .465 on-base percentage, 29 home runs, and 103 RBI.  

In 2024, D1 Baseball, Perfect Game, and Baseball America all named him a second-team freshman All-American. He was also a part of the Big Ten’s All-Freshman team and was second-team All-Big Ten.  

He was second-team All-Big Ten once again in 2025 and led the Terrapins in hits that season with 72.  

2025 Cape Cod League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox 

Hacopian spent this last summer playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the 2025 Cape Cod League.  

In 132 at-bats, he had 34 hits, two home runs, 17 RBI, and scored 15 runs.  

In June, he announced his decision to transfer to Texas A&M for the 2026 college baseball season.

Up Next for Texas A&M  in 2026

In 2025, the Texas A&M Aggies finished the year 30-26 overall. They were also 11-19 in SEC play.  

It was the first season that Michael Earley was the head coach of the Aggies after the former head coach, Jim Schlossnagle, left to go coach for the Texas Longhorns.  

The 2026 season for Texas A&M will begin on February 13 at Blue Bell Park in College Station against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.
