Utility player Chris Hacopian will have a change of scenery for the 2026 college baseball season. After two seasons with the Maryland Terrapins, he is heading to College Station to play for the Texas A&M Aggies. Â
Hacopian and His Two Seasons with the Maryland TerrapinsÂ
Hacopian spent his first two seasons in college baseball with Maryland. His career numbers include a .347 batting average, a .465 on-base percentage, 29 home runs, and 103 RBI. Â
In 2024, D1 Baseball, Perfect Game, and Baseball America all named him a second-team freshman All-American. He was also a part of the Big Ten’s All-Freshman team and was second-team All-Big Ten. Â
He was second-team All-Big Ten once again in 2025 and led the Terrapins in hits that season with 72. Â
2025 Cape Cod League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red SoxÂ
Hacopian spent this last summer playing for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the 2025 Cape Cod League. Â
In 132 at-bats, he had 34 hits, two home runs, 17 RBI, and scored 15 runs. Â
In June, he announced his decision to transfer to Texas A&M for the 2026 college baseball season.

In 2025, the Texas A&M Aggies finished the year 30-26 overall. They were also 11-19 in SEC play. Â
It was the first season that Michael Earley was the head coach of the Aggies after the former head coach, Jim Schlossnagle, left to go coach for the Texas Longhorns. Â
The 2026 season for Texas A&M will begin on February 13 at Blue Bell Park in College Station against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. Â
