It doesn’t take a forensics analyst to see Devin Booker’s love for Michigan. Both his hometown and his college stomping grounds, he’s poured out homages to the Great Lake State throughout his life under the Swoosh, from the Detroit Stompers to the Chevy Book 1 collection. Yet few are as high-profile as his wear for his first pitch, donning a striped version of the Blazer Low as he was honored at a Tigers game earlier this year.
While that aforementioned Chevrolet release did start the legacy of the Devin Booker x Nike Blazer Low, undoubtedly the emergence of two public Detroit Tigers pairs is the biggest splash to date. Two alternating colorways between team-accurate “College Navy” and big-cat-approved “Campfire Orange” define this delivery, replete with Book branding on the heel and the squad’s Roman D monogram embedded into the heel.
It’s not only with odes to the hometown team that Devin gussies up the simplistic lifestyle shoe, as exposed-foam tongues and an asymmetrical lace unit (almost à la the Total 90) further set this apart from what you’ll find on retail shelves. The welting in the sole unit adds a final flourish, etched with classical vine patterning.
Though concrete release information for the Devin Booker x Detroit Tigers x Nike Blazer Low collection hasn’t surfaced yet, we can confirm a $135 retail price for either. Catch official images below and keep our coverage within reach for more updates.
