The Houston Astros narrowly missed the MLB playoffs in 2025, ending a run of eight consecutive seasons where the team made the postseason. After falling short, questions have begun to rise about whether the dynasty is over, a stretch that saw Houston capture World Series titles in 2017 and 2021.
Through it all has been second baseman Jose Altuve, who just finished playing in his 15th season with the organization.
The 35-year-old veteran appeared in 155 games and still put up respectable numbers for Houston, posting a .265 batting average, .329 on-base percentage, .771 OPS, 26 home runs and 77 RBIs despite being past the physical prime of his career.
