MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team will open the 2026 season with a four-game series with West Georgia Feb. 14-16 in Carrollton, Ga.
The Chippewas, under the direction of third-year coach Jake Sabol, will then visit Nashville, Tenn., for four games with Belmont from Feb. 20-22 and then are slated to go to Louisville for a three-game set from Feb. 27-March 1.
Last season, Louisville advances to the College World Series, where it went 2-2 and finished 43-24.
The Chippewas are then slated to open Mid-American Conference play with a three-game series at Ball State March 6-8.
CMU will play its first 20 games on the road with stops for single games at Mercyhurst and at Youngstown State before playing its second MAC series March 13-15 at Kent State.
The Chippewas are then slated to play a nonconference game at Notre Dame on March 17 before their home-opening weekend against MAC foe Toledo on Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium March 20-22.
The Chippewas are scheduled to entertain MAC opponents Western Michigan, Ohio, Northern Illinois and Akron in three-game series, and are slated to go to Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Massachusetts for three-game league sets.
Miami is the defending regular season and MAC Tournament champion.
The Chippewas are slated to entertain Michigan State, Oakland, Milwaukee, Youngstown State, Grace Christian, and Valparaiso in midweek games, and are scheduled to go to Michigan, Michigan State and Oakland for midweek nonleaguers.
The series at UMass May 14-16 is CMU’s regular-season finale.
The MAC Tournament is scheduled for May 20-24 at Crushers Stadium in Avon, Ohio. The top six teams in the final standings earn a berth in the tournament.
