Veteran outfielder Trent Grisham completely flipped the script on himself in just one year. This is perfect for him since he is now entering free agency and is looking to cash in on a nice deal for himself.

Over the years, Grisham has been known for his defense and elite speed, both of which have held steady. But his bat was always an issue, and he couldn’t stay consistent enough for teams to use him.

Entering this past season with the New York Yankees, Grisham was seen more as the fourth outfielder, but he managed to emerge as a semi-regular for the team. Grisham seemed to find his way, and it massively helped the Yankees find success this year.

With the Yankees, Grisham put together a very nice season, hitting .235 with 34 home runs and 74 runs batted in. His defensive metrics did drop a little, but with how strong his bat was, teams may overlook this.

Among qualified center fielders, only Minnesota Twins star Byron Buxton out-hit Grisham, which is an excellent place to be. Additionally, he had a strong walk rate, showing that he could get on base.

Due to the problems that he saw in years past, there will be some teams who are wary of giving him a large contract, but he more than earned it with his performance this season. Grisham is a solid veteran who can help any team, and there will be multiple teams looking to add him to the mix, especially with how limited the outfield market is.

This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Trent Grisham Leaves Yankees, Will Join Kansas City Royals

One team that could look to steal Grisham away from New York is the Kansas City Royals. Kansas City has been rumored to be looking heavily into adding outfield help this offseason, and Grisham could be the perfect candidate for them.

It remains to be seen if the oyals would prefer to add an outfielder via trade or by free agency, but Grishma makes a lot of sense. The veteran would get to join an up-and-coming team, and Kansas City needs help on both sides of the ball.

With his defense still being solid, the Royals could feel very strong about his ability in center field, helping to round out their roster. Grisham’s bat would also hopefully transition over to the Royals, making this a strong addition.

Kansas City took a step back in terms of overall contention this past season, and it could see the front office look to make some moves. Grisham would be a nice move that wouldn’t cost the Royals too much, and he could be a solid addition.

The Royals have spent money in free agency in the past few years, and we could see them do it again. Grisham can also act as a leader for this clubhouse, and Kansas City could heavily benefit from having him in the clubhouse.
