Second baseman Gleyber Torres is getting a day off as the Detroit Tigers wrap up a road trip on Wednesday in St. Louis.

The Tigers (32-17) play the Cardinals (27-22) at 1:15 p.m. Eastern time at Busch Stadium.

In addition to Torres, catcher Jake Rogers, infielder Andy Ibanez and outfielder Akil Baddoo will be available off the bench. The full lineup is below.

On the mound, right-hander Andre Pallante (4-2, 4.11 ERA) will start for the Cardinals.

A UC Irvine standout and 2019 fourth-round draft pick, Pallante debuted in 2022 and has bounced between the bullpen and the rotation for much of his Cardinals tenure. He’s been tougher on left-handed hitters than righties in the big leagues.

The Tigers plan to use a bullpen day on Wednesday, even after using four relievers in a close game on Tuesday night.

Lefty Brant Hurter (1-0, 2.35 ERA) will make his second career start.

“Obviously, we want to win the game that’s in front of us,” Hinch said. “I have no idea how (Wednesday’s) going to go, but we were in a position to win (Tuesday’s) game. Even when we lost the lead, we were going to go to our guys and give ourselves the best chance. We could jump out and score 10 tomorrow and not be as concerned about Vest or Kahnle or Holton — the guys we’ve used a lot. So we’ll be fine. We’re going to go with everybody and hopefully make it a little chaotic for them.”
