If you build it, the Twins will come.

The Minnesota Twins will swing for the cornfields when they face the Philadelphia Phillies in Dyersville, Iowa, next year as Major League Baseball revives its “Field of Dreams” series at the iconic site of the 1989 film.

Two games were played at the location in 2021 and 2022, and after years of renovations, MLB action will return to the site on Aug. 13.

The Twins will be the home team, and the two clubs will take one day to travel to Minneapolis before finishing out the three-game series at Target Field on Aug. 15-16.

“The Minnesota Twins are thrilled to be playing in the return of MLB at Field of Dreams,” Twins Executive Chair Joe Pohlad said in a statement. “Taking the field in Dyersville, where so much of baseball’s magic comes alive, is special for our club and for our fans in Iowa. August 13, 2026 will be a true celebration of our sport and a memorable day in Twins history.”

The inaugural “Field of Dreams” game between the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees became an instant classic as White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson walked off the slugfest with the eighth and final home run of the night. It was the most-watched MLB regular-season game since 2005.

In 2022, the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds took the field for the encore. Offense was much harder to come by this time, and Cubs starting pitcher Drew Smyly fanned nine Reds batters over five shutout innings en route to a 4-2 win. The two teams combined for 26 strikeouts.
