Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College head baseball coach Scott Cassidy ’98 announced on Thursday afternoon that eight student-athletes have signed Letters of Intent to attend Le Moyne and play for the Dolphins in 2027. The class consists of outfielder Mateo Morales, infielders Nolan Hutson and Brett LaGallo, catcher Roman Dixon, right-handed pitchers Patrick Ayotte and Jason Sudol and left-handed pitchers/outfielders Jace Albero and Aedan Palmer.
“We have an exciting class coming to the Heights in the Fall of 2026,” said Cassidy. “We have a great blend of top-tier arms and very good bats that should make immediate impacts in our pursuit for championships.”
Jace Albero – LHP/OF – Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker High
Cassidy on Albero – “Jace is a legit two-way guy with a fastball already in the low 90’s. He will be a dynamic pitcher from the left side where his ceiling is unlimited but he also is a very good offensive player with his ability to hit for average and power as well as being a plus runner. He will be a guy to follow for sure as he starts his collegiate playing career.”
Patrick Ayotte – RHP – Troy, N.Y./Columbia HS
Cassidy on Ayotte – “Patrick caught my eye the first day I saw him pitch. His presence on the mound and his repertoire give him a chance to be a dynamic pitcher. He commands the zone and his FB is already upper 80’s pushing 90. I believe he has a chance to be a top of rotation type arm.”
Roman Dixon – C – Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge HS
Cassidy on Dixon – “Roman is a physical catcher who can swing it from both sides of the plate. He works well behind the dish with a plus arm. I like how he is not a one-dimensional player. He can do it on both sides of the ball. It will be exciting to watch him progress throughout his career. He has a very high ceiling.”
Nolan Hutson – INF – Rye, N.Y./Rye HS
Cassidy on Hutson – “Nolan is a dynamic player who can put pressure on a defense. He has the ability to hit and run and makes things happen offensively. He will be a great table setter. Also, a very good defender with good actions who can play multiple positions. I am very much looking forward to watching him develop at the collegiate level.”
Brett LaGallo – 1B – Old Bethpage, N.Y./Plainview- Old Bethpage
Cassidy on LaGallo – “Brett has such a high upside. He has the ability to put the barrel on the ball and will develop his power while at the college level. He is also a smooth fielding left handed first baseman who provides a big target for the infielders. I really like him and think he will contribute right away.”
Mateo Morales – OF – North Massapequa, N.Y./Farmingdale HS
Cassidy on Morales – “Mateo is a hitter. He can drive the baseball to all fields with power from the left side. Offensively, he has the ability to be a middle of the order run producer while playing solid defense as well. He is a great addition to our program.”
Aedan Palmer – LHP/OF – Elmira, N.Y./Elmira
Cassidy on Palmer – “Aedan is a left-handed pitcher with tremendous upside. He has a FB already in the upper 80’s and has off-speed pitches that compliment that well. He also has some juice in his bat and could see some time hitting as well. Another legit two-way prospect. He is a very exciting player to watch.”
Jason Sudol – RHP – Floral Park, N.Y./Chaminade HS
Cassidy on Sudol – “Jason is a big, strong right-handed pitcher who pounds the strike zone and has been up to 89 in HS before his senior year. He has off speed pitches that pair well with his fastball, making him tough to hit. We really like his makeup and think he can come in and get outs right away. He will make an immediate impact on our staff when he steps foot on campus.”
The Dolphins return 25 letterwinners, including seven starting position players and one starting pitchers, from last year’s 20-28 squad. The Dolphins open the 2026 season in mid-February.
