The Boston Red Sox announced the signing of Connor Wong to a one-year deal on Thursday, avoiding arbitration with the catcher.
MassLive’s Chris Cotillo reports the deal is worth $1.375 million.

A native of Houston, Wong completed his fifth major league season in 2025. He appeared in 63 games for the team, batting .190 with 32 hits, seven runs batted in and a .500 OPS. Wong underwent surgery last month on his right hand.
Originally taken with a third-round selection in the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft out of Houston by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Wong was dealt to the Red Sox in 2020 as part of the trade that sent Mookie Betts to the Dodgers.
