BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Baltimore Orioles announced a trade with the Minnesota Twins on Friday morning.

The team is trading catcher Alex Jackson to Minnesota in exchange for infielder Payton Eeles.

Jackson, 29, was a mid season call up for the club, and hit .220 with 5 home runs and 8 RBI’s over 36 games with the O’s.

He has largely served as a backup and depth catching option throughout his career.

Eeles, 26, is a minor league prospect that is capable of playing all over the field.

He played for three different minor league teams of the Twins in 2025, but spent most of his time with Triple-A St. Paul.

Overall, he hit .261 with 4 home runs and 34 RBI’s in 99 games. He also stole 27 bases.

Eeles is a career .285 hitter in the minor leagues, and could be a utility option for Baltimore.
