Thirteen months after Hurricane Milton caused major damage to Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay Rays revealed one key part of the repairs has been completed.

The Rays shared an image on X of the new roof covering their home stadium.

Winds in excess of 100 miles per hour ripped off large sections of the fiberglass panels on the stadium’s roof. An assessment of the damage estimated repair costs to be $55.7 million.

The Rays had to play home games at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the spring training complex for the New York Yankees, during the 2025 season. The club announced on Nov. 12 it will be able to return to Tropicana Field for the start of the 2026 season.

Tampa Bay’s first home game in 2026 will be against the Chicago Cubs on April 6.
