Adolis Garcia

There were two players the Texas Rangers went on to non-tender on Friday, November 21, and they were Jonah Heim, and Adolis Garcia. With Texas trying to clear space on their payroll, this move seemed evident if they couldn’t get a trade done.

With no trade coming to fruition, Adolis Garcia is now a free agent and has the ability to sign with any team. That being said, the one team that should have an immense interest in trying to sign Garcia in free agency is the Los Angeles Angels.

Adolis Garcia Signs With the Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels need a lot of improvement this offseason after they went 72-90 last season. They still have Mike Trout, so they still have a chance to turn things around quickly, but they need to make a true effort to improve the team this offseason if they want to achieve a World Series with Trout still on the roster.

For the Angels, an area they must improve this offseason is their outfield. To keep Trout healthy, he ended up playing more as a designated hitter in 2025, and that should be what continues in 2026. This makes getting outfield depth even more important for the Angels in free agency.

With the recent non-tendering of Adolis Garcia, it creates an ideal scenario for the Angels to sign him.

While Adolis Garcia hasn’t played quite up to the level he was when he helped play a major factor in the Texas Rangers winning the World Series, he still has provided serviceable play that can provide an impact for the Angels in 2026. Garcia is coming off a 2025 season in which he had a .227/.271/.394 slash line with 19 home runs and 75 RBIs.

Over his entire career, Adolis Garcia has a slash line of .237/.293/.441 with 141 home runs and 459 RBIs, with him having playoff experience, and having the potential to get back to playing at the level he once was, he makes for the ideal signing for the Angels this offseason.
