CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Guardians nontendered OF Will Brennan and relievers Sam Hentges and Nic Enright Friday, making all 3 players free agents.
The team also gave one-year deals to reliever Matt Festa, OF Nolan Jones and DH David Fry (who may return to catching next season).
Hentges was the most surprising move; he missed all of last season after shoulder surgery but is still only 29 and has been effective when healthy.
OF Steven Kwan is eligible for arbitration; he and the team will negotiate a contract in the coming months.
Cleveland’s 40-man roster now stands at 38 players.
