ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Atlanta Braves on Wednesday signed right-handed closer Raisel Iglesias to a one-year deal, the team announced.
Iglesias, 35, will make $16 million in 2026, and will return to a Braves team that struggled mightily out of the bullpen in 2025.
In 70 games with Atlanta last season, Iglesias recorded a 3.21 ERA while converting 29-of-34 save opportunities. Dating back to July 28, Iglesias converted each of his final 18 save opportunities, pitching to a 1.25 ERA over his final 45 games (43.1 innings) of the season.
The Cuban native recorded his 250th career save on Sept. 16 against Washington.
Iglesias has compiled a 2.35 ERA over 222 appearances with Atlanta since joining the Braves during the 2022 season. He will return as the closer amid a bullpen that general manager Alex Anthopoulos has said he’d revitalize.
Iglesias’ 253 saves ranks fifth among active relievers, trailing former Braves Kenley Jansen (476) and Craig Kimbrel (440), Aroldis Chapman (367) and Edwin Diaz (253).
The team also acquired utilityman Mauricio Dubón from the Houston Astros and left-hander Ryan Rolison from the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.
