It’s going to be fascinating to see where Kyle Tucker lands this free agency, as he’s arguably the biggest name out there. While a ton of people believe the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers is the answer, the San Francisco Giants would be extremely interesting.
In an article from Steve Adams, Anthony Franco, Darragh McDonald, and Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors, Adams makes his prediction of Tucker to the Giants.
The article explains that, “While Tucker’s camp at Excel Sports Management might start out with a half billion dollar asking price, the $400MM milestone is more realistic…The Yankees, Dodgers, Blue Jays and Phillies all make sense as potential suitors. The Giants, Angels or Mets could be in the mix but might focus on starting pitching”
The point being that signing Tucker is going to cost a ton of money if the Giants decide to make that move. Below, we’ll dive into that possibility a bit more to determine if it’s worth it for San Francisco.

Kyle Tucker Predicted to Sign With The San Francisco Giants
Tucker has been phenomenal over his MLB career as he’s now made the All-Star game four times in a row. There’s a good reason for that.
Although Tucker didn’t make the All-Star game in 2021, that’s when the breakout came. That season Tucker had 5.3 WAR, 30 home runs, and a .294 batting average with the Houston Astros.
From there, Tucker would make the All-Star game every year. Tucker never had WAR below 4.6, fewer than 22 home runs, and a .257 batting average.
Over that four-year span, Tucker has been extremely consistent, and he’s been one of the best outfielders in baseball. Anytime a player like that hits the open market, he’s going to attract a ton of interest.
Does Kyle Tucker Fit With The San Francisco Giants?
Realistically, it seems like the New York Mets are the best fit for Tucker, but let’s dive into the Giants to just see if it would make sense. Tucker is 28 years old, but he’s at the point in his career where he’ll want to win games.
Compared to the other teams, San Francisco hasn’t had a ton of success recently. They’ve missed the playoffs every year since 2021, but they were elite that season with 107 wins.
The Giants don’t have a bad roster, though, as they won 81 games last year. If the Giants were to pitch Tucker, they would likely take the angle that he can be the player to take them over the hump.
While that’s likely true, it seems like they would mean a deep playoff push but not a World Series appearance. As for the Mets, Yankees, and Dodgers, they all have a much better track record over the past few years.
Kyle Tucker Stats
In why Tucker should sign with the Mets, it goes over a ton of stats, but here are a few important ones if you missed that. Last season, Tucker was on the Chicago Cubs, where he had 4.6 WAR, 22 home runs, .266 batting average, and a .377 OBP.
It’s clear to see why every team in the MLB would love to have Tucker on their roster. It’s not as if Kyle Tucker signing with the San Francisco Giants is a crazy idea, it just seems unlikely compared to his other options.
