DECATUR, Ill. (WICS) — The Decatur Baseball Club invites fans across Central Illinois to help shape the identity of the community’s newest sports franchise.
Beginning Monday, fans can visit www.decaturbaseball.com to participate in the “Name Decatur’s Team” Community Campaign, submitting their ideas for the official team name of the expansion club set to debut in the Prospect League in the summer of 2026.
As the club prepares to join the 20-team collegiate wood-bat league, community input will play a key role in selecting a name that reflects the spirit, history, and pride of Decatur.
In addition to contributing name ideas, fans can also secure their place in history by purchasing season tickets for the inaugural 2026 season, now available at www.decaturbaseball.com.
The Decatur Baseball Club is also thrilled to announce its first major event: a Hot Stove Social featuring legendary Chicago Cubs broadcaster Pat Hughes. This special evening will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at a Decatur venue to be announced. Fans may purchase tickets to this exclusive event through the team website as well.
