One of the bigger names hitting the open market in baseball this year is All-Star infielder Alex Bregman. Bregman is coming off his lone season with the Boston Red Sox, and now he is looking to cash in on the free agent front.

For the season, Bregman hit .273 with 18 home runs and 63 runs batted in. The veteran seemed very comfortable playing in Boston, but it remains to be seen if he will return to the organization.

This will likely be the last “big” contract for him to sign, so Bregman is sure to look for the best deal possible. Due to his history, there will be multiple teams trying to sign the former All-Star, and he could be a real steal for any team.

But whether Bregman can land the type of contract that he wants remains a mystery, especially with there only being a limited number of teams spending this winter. Bregman can still be a massively impactful player, so he could be someone who is worth taking a chance on.

This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Alex Bregman Will Join Seattle Mariners

As Bregman searches for a new team for next season, he could consider a return to the AL West, but with a rival. The Seattle Mariners could be an interesting landing spot for him, especially since they have a need at the third base position.

Seattle is dealing with the free agency of third baseman Eugenio Suarez, and there is a level of interest in bringing him back to town. But if things were to go south in negotiations, the Mariners could always pivot over to Bregman.

Bregam is seen by many as the better of the two players, and Seattle knows just how lethal the veteran infielder can be from all their battles in the past. But adding him to the mix could help push this team over the hump to finally go after a World Series title.

Since the Mariners came within a game of reaching the World Series, we could see the front office looking to be very aggressive in adding to the team. Bringing a champion like Bregman to town would be a game-changing type of move for this franchise, and it would show that they mean business about winning this year.

Bregman knows how to win, and he could bring much-needed leadership to the team. Seattle has a lot of talent on the roster, but it doesn’t have that veteran who can push them over the top.

The Mariners front office has always been willing to get a little wild, but this could be the move to finally bring them a title. If anything, they would make another AL team weaker, while giving themselves a real boost for the next few years.
