The Los Angeles Dodgers are chasing a three-peat in 2026, and while they’ve won back-to-back World Series titles, the front office’s effort to improve each year has been a huge factor in the team’s success.

The Dodgers have some areas to improve upon before next season, including in the outfield. Last winter, the Dodgers signed Michael Conforto to a one-year, $17 million deal.
While the Dodgers could re-sign the outfielder, he had a career-worst season in LA and did not make the postseason roster because of his lack of production. That leaves the defending champions looking for a new defensive alignment in the outfield, especially with Teoscar Hernandez’s struggles in right field throughout 2025.
The premier free agent outfielder on the market this offseason is Chicago Cubs star Kyle Tucker; however, the Dodgers likely won’t be the highest bidder in the sweepstakes for the 28-year-old.
A more short-term option for LA would be reuniting with an old friend: Cody Bellinger.
Bellinger spent the first six seasons of his career with the Dodgers, earning All-Star honors in 2017 and 2019. He won the National League MVP award during his 2019 campaign with the Dodgers, accumulating an 8.7 bWAR that year.
Scott Boras, Bellinger’s agent, revealed the outfielder would welcome a return to the Dodgers.
“I think Cody had a great, great experience here. Rookie of the Year. MVP. And he was Hollywood ringing while he was here so I think that players who have those kinds of experiences over the years are always very welcoming of anywhere like that,” Boras told McKain.
The Dodgers would be signing a new version of Bellinger, who had a 13.7 percent strikeout rate last season. The outfielder could be a great fit for LA.
