The Texas Rangers made some roster moves early on in the 2026 MLB offseason, and those moves included non-tendering Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim, allowing them to hit free agency and sign anywhere.
For Adolis Garcia, he might be 32 years old, and coming off a down season where he had a .227/.271/.394 slash line with 19 home runs and 75 RBIs, but he is just two seasons removed from being an All-Star player, and that is something the next team Garcia signs with can bank on, and hope he gets back to playing at that level.
The team that can look to take that chance and sign Adolis Garcia is the Atlanta Braves.

Adolis Garcia to Sign With Atlanta Braves in MLB Free AgencyÂ
The Atlanta Braves are coming off a season in which they had a 76-86 record, and need to do some restructuring with their roster. One of the big areas they need to make a priority is to add to their outfield depth, and find an impactful bat to replace Marcell Ozuna in the lineup as well.
In addition, the Braves will need to replace Jurickson Profar in left field, as he was abysmal from a defensive standpoint as well. The ideal player for Atlanta would be an outfielder with versatility to play at multiple spots in the outfield, and a player that fits that mold is Adolis Garcia.
Adolis Garcia is an above-average defender that can play all outfield spots. There are also the ties that Garcia has to Tim Hyers, who was on the Rangers in 2023 as their hitting coach, a year in which Garcia had a career year. Hyers is now the hitting coach in Atlanta, and is already familiar with working with Garcia to have him make an immediate impact.
If Adolis Garcia can get back to the way he played in 2023, when he had a .245/.328/.508 slash line with 39 home runs and 107 RBIs with a change of scenery, then this signing can pay of immensely for the Atlanta Braves.
