The Boston Red Sox are acquiring veteran right-hander Sonny Gray in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, sources confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.

Gray said he would waive his no-trade clause to leave the Cardinals.

Gray, 36, went 14-8 with a 4.28 ERA last year while making every start for the Cardinals. He has one year left on a three-year, $75 million deal that includes a team option for 2027.

He has pitched in the big leagues for 13 years, making the All-Star team as recently as 2023. He has a career 3.58 ERA in 330 starts.

The trade was first reported by The New York Post.
