2025 record: 80-82 (3rd in AL Central)

The Kansas City Royals have finally emerged from their near-decade slumber as an ascending young team with playoff potential. 2024 was their first season above .500 since their 2015 World Series campaign, going from a lowly 56-win season to giving the Yankees a surprising run for their money in the ALDS. By comparison, 2025’s 3rd place finish was a bit of a letdown, but there is still plenty of hope that the Royals can become serious contenders with such a strong young offensive core – they just have to round out the rest of the lineup to ascend to the next level.
