There are multiple players across Major League Baseball to take a look at on the international market, including right-hander Tatsuya Imai.
Imai has some of the best stuff in the world and even came out and stated that he wants to beat the Dodgers rather than join them.
That’s always good news for every team around the league, especially one like the San Francisco Giants, which has had a long rivalry with that squad in Los Angeles.
According to the latest from ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel, San Francisco could be a team in the mix for the 27-year-old right-hander.
“It’s hard to narrow down which teams will be interested in Imai, especially as typical lower-spending teams, such as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins, are expected to spend more in free agency than in past years.
“That said, among teams set to spend at the higher end of the market that need starting pitchers (and maybe don’t want to give up a draft pick to get one), you have the New York Mets, San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees, who are perennially in on the top players coming from NPB,” he wrote.
Looking at what Imai has done throughout his career, he has been pitching professionally for quite some time now, spending eight seasons in the NPB.
In those eight seasons, he has posted a 3.15 ERA and has struck out 907 hitters.
