The Texas Rangers shocked many around the baseball world over the past few days when they announced that they had non-tendered former All-Star outfielder Adolis Garcia. Garcia was subject to trade rumors during the deadline this year, but there weren’t many who saw Texas just giving up on him.
The veteran is now free to sign with any team, and there has already been a lot of interest from teams to sign him. Even with his numbers dipping a little in the past year, Garcia can still be a valuable piece to any team.
This past season with the Rangers, Garcia hit .227 with 27 home runs and 75 runs batted in. Like many players on the Rangers roster, Garcia fell victim to the boom-or-bust hitting approach that Texas implemented.
But he can still hit for power, while also being a feared commodity in a lineup. Garcia also has his postseason success to help back him up, and he was a major reason why the Rangers won the World Series in 2023.
During the postseason in 2023, Garcia had himself a few weeks for the ages. Garcia hit an astonishing .323 with 20 hits, eight home runs, and 22 runs batted in over 15 games for Texas.
Overall, he is still a quality player and could be a steal for any team. Garcia may take his time to sign with a team to see how the other free agent markets shake out.
This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Adolis Garcia Will Join Detroit Tigers
One solid option for Garcia to consider this offseason could be the Detroit Tigers, who could use an upgrade in the outfield. Detroit reached the playoffs this past season, but it fell short of winning the World Series.
The Tigers are being seen around the league as a team that could make some big moves this offseason, and bringing in the former All-Star could be massive. Garcia could provide this lineup with more power, and he would make everyone around him that much better.
Since the Tigers have a strong lineup already, Garcia wouldn’t need to do too much, and he could simply play his game with the team. The veteran would be “protected” in the lineup, and he could really give this team a boost of energy throughout the season.
Garcia knows what it takes to win a title, and since he was such a big catalyst in Texas winning, he could be a leader for this Detroit team. The Tigers have a lot of younger guys on the team, and they could see a more veteran voice in the locker room.
The Tigers have to maximize the window of opportunity that this core group has, and adding in talent like Garcia could be one way to make it happen. If this team is serious about winning the World Series next year, adding a player like Garcia isn’t a luxury; it’s more of a need.
