The overall numbers weren’t the best, but Clevari Tejada took a big step forward in his workload for the 2025 season. After tossing 68.1 innings between the Complex and Low-A in 2024, Tejada upped it to 92 this past season, pitching for the Bradenton Marauders.
There were moments, he allowed one earned run over a five-game stretch in late June/early July, but he struggled down the stretch and ended the season with an ERA of nearly five.Â
Tejada, 21, is a converted position player, so he is still on the more raw side when it comes to pitching. New enough that Bradenton manager Jim Horner told me during the season that the biggest key to his success (along with Carlos Castillo, another pitcher in the system) was simply to log innings for experience.Â
It’s mainly a three-pitch mix: sinker, slider, and splitter. The sinker gets weak contact against righties, as he likes to throw it in on their hands. Both the slider and splitter show promise as put-away pitches.Â
There were enough promising moments with Tejada to make him a prospect worth keeping an eye on in 2026. If the stuff upticks a bit as he continues to learn on the mound, he’s an arm that could find himself on the backend of some top 30 lists.Â
