1. DraftKings on track for December launch, donates to end Veteran homelessness

DraftKings is on track for its Missouri launch next week and it is donating $50,000 to the Veterans Community Project, a nonprofit seeking to end Veteran homelessness in Missouri. The nonprofits’ Tiny Homes initiative helps transition Veterans to independent living by providing transitional housing, comprehensive care and essential services.

2. Missouri AG warns residents of scams ahead of holiday shopping season

As Missourians prepare for the year’s biggest shopping weekend, Attorney General Catherine Hanaway is warning consumers to stay alert for scams that surge around Cyber Monday. “Criminals know families are searching for the best deals of the season,” Attorney General Hanaway said in a press release. “Our job is to protect Missourians from deceptive practices and to make sure scammers don’t turn the holidays into an opportunity to steal your money, data, or identity. I want every Missourian to shop confidently and safely this weekend.”.

3. Mo. Independent: Federal ruling on Missouri gerrymandered redistricting plan to come in early December

The state is asking U.S. District Judge Zachary Bluestone, a recent Trump appointee, to declare the U.S. Constitution precludes any popular effort to overturn the new map that was muscled through by Republicans in a September special session. People Not Politicians, a political action committee that has until Dec. 11 to submit enough signatures to force a vote on the map, wants Bluestone to dismiss the case and leave it to state courts to sort out.

4. Guns N’ Roses coming to St. Louis

The rock band will first play at Busch Stadium on August 16 before taking a Nightrain across state to Kansas City to play in the Morton Amphitheater three days later. Patience for those near Branson, It’s So Easy to let anticipation build as the final 2026 Show-Me-State-Show is on September 12 in Ridgedale at the Thunder Ridge Nature Arena.

5. Ameristar reveals Fanatics Sportsbook

Ameristar Casino has its Fanatics Sportsbook on track to open Monday with 11 screens, three different seating options and 12 sports betting kiosks. Construction came along quickly after the announcement less than three weeks ago.

6. Red Sox acquire right-hander Sonny Gray from the Cardinals, AP source says

The Boston Red Sox acquired right-hander Sonny Gray from the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the trade had not yet been announced. According to published reports, the Cardinals would receive righty Richard Fitts and a prospect.

7. Evolution Festival postpones next event

Evolution Festival, a popular multi-day music event, is taking next year off. In a social media post, festival organizers cited the nation’s 250th birthday, the World Cup and the Olympics as reasons it’ll be pausing for 2026.

8. Future large Ameren Missouri customers face new rules

Future data centers seeking a home within Ameren’s footprint of Missouri will face new guidelines after a 4-0 vote by the Missouri Public Service Commission (MPSC).

9. Mayor Spencer inks executive order on shelter protocols

Mayor Cara Spencer signed executive order 93 to formalize and unify protocols and procedures as to how the city responds to winter weather.
