The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have already been busy this offseason.

They sent talented outfielder Taylor Ward away in a trade to the Baltimore Orioles. In return, they landed the longer club control of promising pitcher Grayson Rodriguez.

Could they try to do that again?

The Angels have another player who fits the Ward mold in the form of Jo Adell.

MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand thinks Adell is the logical next piece to be moved, if the Angels go after another trade this offseason.

“The Angels already shipped out one of their outfielders, trading impending free agent Ward to the Orioles for starter Rodriguez, who has four years of club control remaining,” Feinsand writes. “Adell is under control for two more seasons, and after breaking out in 2025 with 37 home runs, 98 RBIs and a .778 OPS, it wouldn’t be shocking to see what type of return Los Angeles can get for the 26-year-old.”

Adell is a particularly intriguing case. He was once the top prospect in all of baseball.

It then took him a really long time to hit his stride at the MLB level. But either the Angels or another team could still value that pedigree particularly highly.

That could lead to a better trade return than one might think. It could also make it tougher on the Angels to part with Adell.

The Ward trade could’ve been a sign of things to come, or it could’ve filled the need the Angels felt they had and mean that they don’t have to make another one.
