Joe Louis Southern Kitchen, owned by Joe Louis Barrow II, son of the famed boxer, will open its third restaurant next year in downtown Detroit on Friday, April 3, coinciding with the Tigers’ home opener against St. Louis.
The restaurant will open at 1528 Woodward Avenue near Grand Circus Park, just steps away from Comerica Park, according to a press release.
The first restaurant opened in 2021 in Midtown at 6549 Woodward Ave., and another location opened last month at 29639 Northwestern Highway in Southfield.
The 4,000-square-foot restaurant will accommodate about 80 customers.
The Midtown menu includes cinnamon roll flapjacks, southern cobbler French toast, omelettes, breakfast biscuits, and chicken and waffles.
