The Xavier Musketeers’ basketball game against St. Francis is getting a higher profile broadcast team than it might have in years past.
TNT Sports, which is scheduled to broadcast 40 regular-season men’s basketball games involving Big East teams, including 30 games in Big East play, is showing the Musketeers’ non-conference game against the Red Flash on truTv and HBO Max, with Brian Anderson doing play-by-play, Grant Hill as analyst and Andy Katz reporting.
Anderson and Hill have called March Madness together for several years. Anderson, the Milwaukee Brewers‘ play-by-play announcer, has been the play-by-play voice of the NBA2K video game since 2021, and has called national broadcasts of MLB and NBA games in addition to college hoops.
Xavier is ranked 102nd in the NCAA’s new NET rankings. St. Francis is ranked 359th.
Xavier’s Crosstown Shootout game Dec. 5 against the Cincinnati Bearcats is scheduled to air on TNT and truTv.
It’s the second St. Francis game Anderson, Hill and Katz are calling this season: On Nov. 6, Anderson, Hill and Katz handled TNT Sports’ broadcast of the TCU Horned Frogs’ game against the Red Flash from Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
TNT also is scheduled to broadcast Xavier’s home game Jan. 24 against St. John’s, the first matchup of the season between head coaches Richard and Rick Pitino.
