Former Orioles manager Brandon Hyde has found a new landing spot in Major League Baseball. Hyde was hired by American League East foe Tampa Bay. The Rays hiring Hyde as a senior advisor to baseball operations.

Hyde managed the O’s from 2019 before being fired in the beginning of the 2025 season after a 15-28 start. In his seven seasons with Baltimore, his clubs produced a 421-491 record. Hyde managed the Orioles to back-to-back postseason appearances in 2023-24, including the best record in baseball two years ago with 101 wins and the AL East title. Hyde was also named AL Manager of the Year that season.

Prior to the O’s, Hyde was a bench coach and first base coach with the Chicago Cubs. He also spent time with the Miami Marlins organization as a coach.
