The Chicago White Sox are one team that certainly needs to improve as we head into 2026 MLB Free Agency, as they had a terrible 60-102 record in 2025. The team has some young pieces they can begin to build around, and has shown to be active in the trade market to improve its roster. However, with the ability to spend money and the ability to spend some money on a team full of young players, there is one player looking for a contract that would be the perfect fit for the Chicago White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox should target Adolis Garcia this winter

The Chicago White Sox should be aggressive in signing two-time All-Star and World Series Champion Adolis Garcia this offseason. The team is in the market for another outfielder after non-tendering Mike Tauchman to begin the offseason, and Garcia was one of the more surprising non-tendered players in the majors. He is coming off a down season few seasons, but finished the 2025 season playing 135 games with a .665 OPS, 19 home runs, and 13 stolen bases.
Garcia fits exactly what Chicago needs, as he could easily replace right fielder Brooks Baldwin in the field and give the team another bat in the middle of their lineup as well. He may have struggled with laying off some pitches outside of the strike zone, but when he gets his bat on the ball, it is going to be hit hard right on the barrel. If he signs with the White Sox, this gives him a chance to get an opportunity to play every day and possibly be a trade deadline target for a contending team looking for a bat.
Garcia hits a lot of his extra-base hits to left-center field, and the dimensions of Rate Field are very similar to what he was playing with in Texas, so the swing adjustment in that aspect is not as needed. Being a veteran with a little chip on his shoulder could be a massive addition to the Chicago White Sox clubhouse for the 2026 season. Besides, having an outfield trio of Andrew Benintendi, Luis Robert Jr, and Adolis Garcia screams for upside.
The White Sox have some good players on the roster. Why shouldn’t they go and add another player who has proven it on the field and is a buy-low candidate?
