Heading into next week’s Winter Meetings in Orlando, Fla., the Milwaukee Brewers are going to look at what they can do to improve their roster heading into the 2026 MLB season.
A number of players are either on or potentially on the trading block at this time. One name being bandied about is Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm.

According to a new article from ESPN baseball reporters Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan, Bohm might be worth getting a few looks from other MLB teams.
Which teams do McDaniel and Passan list as potential good fits for Bohm? Besides the Brewers, those teams include the Seattle Mariners, Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Angels. The ESPN report also lists any potential trade involving Bohm at 50%.
“The buzz: Bohm being dealt could depend on the Phillies’ other moves. If they miss out on Kyle Schwarber and pivot to Alex Bregman, Bohm is as good as gone,” the ESPN article indicates.
“If they spend their money elsewhere, they still could move him and either acquire a stopgap at third or run with top prospect Aidan Miller,” the article continues. “In a winter of change in Philadelphia, Bohm is among the likeliest of Phillies not to return.

“The scouting report: Bohm has one year of control left at roughly $10 million, pending arbitration. His numbers regressed a bit in 2025, with his walk and strikeout rate, along with his power numbers and defensive metrics, all taking a step back,” according to ESPN. “If he could get back to his 2023-24 levels of power (50-plus extra-base hits both seasons), Bohm could be a nice bounce-back candidate.”
Last season, Bohm had a slash line of .287/.331/.409 with 11 home runs and 59 RBIs. Bohm hit 20 home runs back in 2023 and had 97 RBIs, too. Bohm had another 97-RBI season in 2024, but his RBI output slacked last season.
Imagine Milwaukee picking up a player like Bohm, who has one All-Star appearance in his career. Back in 2020, he finished in second place for the National League Rookie of the Year award, too.
Bohm has postseason experience from his time with the Phillies, so that experience in itself could make him a well-received veteran in the Milwaukee clubhouse if he is acquired.

Let’s see what, if anything, the Brewers could put together in the upcoming days at the Winter Meetings. Don’t think that for one minute Brewers manager Pat Murphy wouldn’t love to have Bohm on his lineup card all next season.
