The New York Yankees seem pretty set on bringing back Cody Bellinger in MLB Free Agency to round out their outfield. Between bringing back Trent Grisham, and still having Aaron Judge, they view Bellinger as their missing piece.
The issue is, they will need to create room in their outfield for this move to happen, and one player that seems to not have their job secure is Jasson Dominguez.
With being a five-tool player that still has upside to be unlocked, Jasson Dominguez becomes an ideal trade candidate. If the Yankees truly look to trade Dominguez, the Los Angeles Dodgers become the most logical team to trade for him.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are coming off back-to-back World Series titles, but to not let complacency set in, they need to be looking of do more to advance the roster further. One of the areas that wasn’t fantastic in 2025 that they need to improve for 2026 is their outfield.
As a unit, the outfield ended up earning a WAR of 3.7, and that was majorly inflated due to Andy Page, who was the only outfielder that provided worthwhile play. Excluding Page, the group of Tommy Edman, Teoscar Hernández, Kiké Hernández, and Michael Conforto combined for a -0.4 WAR.
It is clear the outfield needs to be addressed, and for the Dodgers to accomplish this, they can look to trade for Jasson Dominguez.
Jasson Dominguez is coming off a 2025 season in which he had a .257/.331/.388 slash line with 10 home runs, 47 RBIs, and a 0.5 WAR. With Dominguez set to enter just his fourth season in MLB, and being just 23 years old, he has the potential to develop into a true star.
The Yankees would typically want to keep Jasson Dominguez due to his potential, but with the mounting pressure to succeed, they need more proven talent in their outfield. For the Dodgers, they need the outfield help, and can take time to truly help Dominguez develop in the process without as much pressure, creating an ideal trade scenario.
